New professional 17" and 24" LCD studio monitors

JVC Professional is pleased to announce the new DT-R Series monitors, specifically designed to provide customers with a cost-effective HD multi-format monitor. The DT-R17L4D and DT-R24L4D monitors are professional screens with essential features for studio applications, providing the high picture quality people have come to expect from JVC in a simple, reliable and robust design.

DBoth monitors feature IPS (In-Plane-Switching) LCD panels and 10-bit signal-processing. The IPS panels deliver excellent detail, high contrast and brilliant colour reproduction, with a high viewing angle (178° / 178°) perfect for studio control operations. The 17" monitor has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, while the 24" monitor has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.

In professional video production, accurate image display is a must. By calibrating each unit’s gamma at the factory before it is shipped, JVC is able to ensure extremely precise greyscale characteristics. Matrix parameters are set in response to the actual HD or SD input signal, making it possible to accurately reproduce colours in strict conformity with ITU standards without having to process colour signals. A chromatic range, equivalent to EBU specifications, ensures colour reproduction is virtually identical to the original. The 24" model is particularly suitable as a production monitor, with colour space switchable between ITU709 and Adobe (100% Adobe colour space reproduction).

The DT-R Series monitors have two standard 1.5G HD-SDI inputs with switched loop through output, DVI with HDCP, and a video and audio input. There is also latency of less than one frame between signal input and displayed image, with support for LTC & VITC TimeCode. The DT-R Series monitors have a mono speaker, with audio level display for up to 12 channels with Peak-Hold. There are also marker functions, a LED dimmer function on the front, source ID input with ASCII code, selectable information position, 1:1 mode, WSS support and automatic and manual format identification.

The robust VESA-compliant metal design provides a secure, all-round protection for even the toughest of studio environments, with a table top stand also supplied for easy installation. The monitors feature optimal heat dissipation, stable operating conditions, a long lifespan and a simple user interface. Optional calibration software is also available.

The DT-R series will be available from August 2010.
